- MENUE INFO:
-
- -This file.
-
-
- MENUE COM 1/2:
-
- -Selection of COM 1 or COM 2.Default is COM 1.
- -Selection of 1200 or 9600 Baud.Default is 1200 Baud.
- Take care with 9600 Baud when using long cables between device and
- interface or more than one device connected to ICOM-Bus.
-
-
- MENUE DEVICE:
-
- -Selection of ICOM device adress (Default=4) and datalength (Default=4),
- see examples at end of file.
- (Enter device adress in hex format, for example adress 1C is entered
- as "1" and "C")
- -When starting, the program tries to read textfile C:\ICOM\ICOM.CFG
- for your personal configuration.
-
- Line of file Example Meaning
- 1 1 COM 1 selected
- 2 1200 1200 Baud selected
- 3 14 Device adress for IC 475
- 4 5 Datalength 5 byte
- 6 - 25 Frequency and mode data Online Memory
-
-
- MENUE FILE:
-
- -Enter frequencies in MHz "." kHz "," optional 3 decimals for your
- frequency database.
-
- Examples:
-
- Input File
-
- .5 .500,000
- 14 14.000,000
- 28.5 28.500,000
- 144.350,5 144.350,500
- 1296.350,000 1296.350,000
-
- -Possible modes are lsb, usb,cw,am,fm.Small letters are possible,
- program converts to capital letters.
- If no mode is entered, "USB" will be selected.
-
- -C:\ICOM\EXAMPLE is an example file for working with PC Memory or
- Memory Scan.It shows data format if you want to edit files with
- a text editor.
-
- -Sorting of files ( key = frequency ) possible.
-
-
- MENUE PC OPERATION:
-
- -Menue Online:
-
- Manual operation of device and entered data will be shown on PC display.
- Frequency, date and time as large seven segment, other information as
- normal letters.
- Device is requested continuously to send out actual data.
-
- Enter Push to enter data, push twice to stay on frequency
- and change only mode
- Escape Return to Menue
- F1 Help
- F2 Show Online-Memory List
- a Selection of VFO A
- b Selection of VFO B
- s Enter frequency step for Arrow left/right
- f Store displayed frequency, mode, PC date and time
- in C:\ICOM\DATA.TMP
- m Select Online Memory channel 1 - 20 ( C:\ICOM.ICOM.CFG )
- d Show PC date
- t Show PC time
- n Select narrow bandwidth
- w Select wide bandwidth
- Arrow up/down Frequency step up/down
-
- Mode Step
-
- AM,FM 1 kHz
- LSB,USB 100 Hz
- CW 10 Hz
-
- Arrow left/right Frequency step up/down, Default 25 kHz, select
- other steps with "s"
-
- Depending on Icom device displayed 1Hz-frequency data may be dummy data.
-
-
- -Menue PC Memory:
-
- Select frequency and mode in any database file and send data to device.
- If program finds a mouse installed, select with mouse.
-
-
- -Menue Scan/Spectrum:
-
- Enter lower and upper frequency, mode, scanstep and holdtime.
-
- Start Any key
- Stop Return
- 1 Scanstep up Return, if stopped before
- Scan again Any key but not Return
- Escape Return to menue
-
- Devices connected to ICOM-Bus are not adressed because of transmission
- time via serial port, every device scans inside its frequency range.
- With additional equipment spectrum operation and monitoring is possible
- (VGA-Mode), see remarks.
-
-
- -Menue Memory Scan:
-
- Select any database file for scanning, then same operation like Scan.

-
- A positive signal ( TTL level may be possibly enough ) connected to RI
- of COM-port used for ICOM interface stops scanning while operating
- Scan/Spectrum or Memory Scan.
- Scanning goes on with RI-signal going to ground or pushing any key
- (1 scanstep up with Enter).
- See your ICOM-Manual for polarity of SQL-signal at ACC-port, invert
- SQL-signal if necessary.
- Holdtime must not be too short to allow AF to stabilize.
-
- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
-
- Remarks for Spectrum - Operation :
-
- -Operate COM-port with 9600 Baud because of serial transmission time and
- faster mode of operation.
- Adjust ICOM device to 9600 Baud internally by jumpers.
- -Operation of devices will be in ICOM-Mode 0, no device message.
- -Disconnect RX and TX at ICOM-Bus in your interface ONLY!
- for spectrum operation.
- Connect an A/D converter with serial conversion to RX of interface.
- (With RX and TX connected you will see the converted remote messages for
- the device)
- -ICOM data format (hex) :
-
- FE_FE_00_PC Adress_00_Remote data (4/5 byte)_FD
-
- -After end of holdtime the A/D converter is requested to send
- one character (8 bit) :
-
- Startbit_1 character_1 Stopbit no parity
-
- At DTR of COM-port used for interface will be a Sync-signal
- for A/D conversion. The A/D converter may not be allowed to send
- continuously because of receive-buffer overflow of COM-port.
- -A COM-Monitor (Monitor.exe) is supplied with the program to make
- checking easier.
